● On January 9th and 10th, DIR EN GREY performed at Nippon Budokan on a 2-days live show called “UROBOROS -with the proof in the name of living…-“. Tickets for both shows were sold out in less than 15 minutes.
『UROBOROS -with the proof in the name of living…- AT NIPPON BUDOKAN』, the live DVD recapturing those 2 days was simultaneously released in May in 17 countries worldwide including Japan.
● From June to July they had their domestic tour “THE UNWAVERING FACT OF TOMORROW TOUR2010”, then visited South Korea on July 25th to perform at 『PENTAPORT ROCK FESTIVAL』, making their first performance in this country in 8 years.
● In August they performed at “SONISPHERE”, the a big music festival in England with Iron Maiden as the headliner artist. Then, after having a very successful headline show in London (which was sold out), they had their first-time performance in Russia visiting Moscow and St. Petersburg.
● They began a double headliner tour in the U.S. with the Finnish cellist metal band APOCALYPTICA from the end of August to mid-September. Answering the eager invitation from APOCALYPTICA, Kyo also performed on their stage as guest vocalist for some of the last few shows of the tour, getting a great acclamation by the audience.
● In October they resumed their domestic tour. They welcomed their overseas PA engineer Rick Diesing for this tour, rocking each venue with the “international quality” sound.
On October 16th they performed at “LOUD PARK 10” in Saitama Arena, having a more exciting reaction from the audience than when they performed at the same festival back in 2006.
● While working on their next album, their started their Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka tour “THE UNWAVERING FACT OF TOMORROW TOUR2010-2011” by the end of December. The band closed 2010 with the show in Nagoya on New Year’s Eve, and started 2011 with a show in the same city on the first day of the year.
