Continuing to evolve 15 years after their striking debut, on July 16th, 2014, DIR EN GREY will be releasing their newest live video, “DUM SPIRO SPERO AT NIPPON BUDOKAN”.
 
The live video, which documents their first performances at Nippon Budokan since their shows four years and two months ago in January 2010, has a setlist that is the culmination of the project they started with their 8th album, “DUM SPIRO SPERO” (released August 3rd, 2011), and also includes their new single, “SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH” (released January 22nd, 2014), mini album “THE UNRAVELING” (April 3rd, 2013), as well as older songs “Aoi Tsuki”, “umbrella”, and more. Combined with the masterful production from the stage, sound, lighting, video, special effects, and instrument crew and the enthusiasm of the capacity crowd, the video depicts a performance with countless unforgettable moments.
 
The main disc, running 4 hours and 15 minutes, contains the two Nippon Budokan shows in their entirety, with only “SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH” repeated between the two setlists.
Included with the limited-edition first pressing is a bonus Blu-Ray/DVD, running 1 hour and 41 minutes, consisting of a documentary that includes footage from studio rehearsals; a behind-the-scenes view of the show days, including backstage footage and a look at the band just before the curtain rises; and an overview of the trial and error process that accompanied the production of the current era of live shows, starting from the announcement of “DUM SPIRO SPERO”. Also included on the disc is live footage in a 9-camera split-screen view.
The limited-edition first pressing also comes with a bonus CD that contains reconstructed and re-recorded versions of songs from “DUM SPIRO SPERO”, including unplugged versions, symphonic versions similar to the ones performed at Nippon Budokan, and jazz and folklore arrangements that give the songs a completely new feel. Along with remixes from Yutaka Aoki (downy) and NARASAKI, the disc looks at “DUM SPIRO SPERO” from a new angle.
 
True to vocalist Kyo’s request at the shows, “Can we come together?”, every member of the audience joined together with the inimitable DIR EN GREY at the storied Nippon Budokan, and every one of these priceless moments are captured in full on this upcoming video release.
